Fatherhood

Responsibility arrived before I felt ready

I became a father at seventeen. That moment did not make life simpler. It gave my life a responsibility I could no longer ignore.

Leadership began at home

Fatherhood shaped my discipline, my ambition, and my definition of leadership. It taught me that love is not only what we feel. It is what we protect, what we build, and what we continue doing when nobody is applauding.

From 2003 to 2005, I served as a mentor in El Paso’s Young Fathers Project, helping young men face the realities of early fatherhood, responsibility, employment, education, and family life.

I do not present myself as a perfect father. I want my children to remember that through every flaw and every difficult season, I kept trying, kept learning, and never stopped believing in them.

Legacy

The work continues through the people we raise

For Voz, legacy is not a monument to success. It is the example children witness, the security they feel, and the courage they learn to carry into the world.
