Microsoft Office 2007 (codenamed Office 12[5]) is an office suite for Windows, developed and published by Microsoft. It was officially revealed on March 9, 2006 and was the 12th version of Microsoft Office. It was released to manufacturing on November 3, 2006;[6] it was subsequently made available to volume license customers on November 30, 2006,[7][8] and later to retail on January 30, 2007,[1] shortly after the completion of Windows Vista. The ninth major release of Office for Windows, Office 2007 was preceded by Office 2003 and succeeded by Office 2010. Initially, Microsoft promised to support exporting to Portable Document Format (PDF) in Office 2007. However, due to legal objections from Adobe Systems, Office 2007 originally did not offer PDF support out of the box, but rather as a separate free download.[43][44][45] However, starting with Service Pack 2, Office allows users to natively export PDF files.[46]

The ISO/IEC 26300 OpenDocument standard has no spreadsheet formula language included (or referenced) in the standard specification. Office 2007 SP2 uses the spreadsheet formula language specified in the ISO/IEC 29500 Office Open XML open standard when creating ODF documents. According to the ODF Alliance report "ODF spreadsheets created in Excel 2007 SP2 do not in fact conform to ODF 1.1 because Excel 2007 incorrectly encodes formulas with cell addresses. Section 8.3.1 of ODF 1.1 says that addresses in formulas "start with a "[" and end with a "]"." In Excel 2007 cell addresses were not enclosed with the necessary square brackets."[55] The ISO/IEC 26300 specification states that the semantics and the syntax depends on the used namespace, which is implementation dependent, leaving the syntax implementation defined as well.[58]

There is a difference between an Office language interface pack and an Office language pack. Office language packs that supported versions before and including Office 2013 are not free. Office interface language packs for office 2003 to Office 2013 were free. Microsoft stop selling Office 2003 and Office 2007 language packs in July 2011

Language interface packs (LIPs) change the language for the ribbon and commands for some Office applications, and include a spell checker for their language. LIPs are available only for the languages listed in the Links to free LIP downloads section.

Microsoft no longer offers Office 2003 or 2007 Language packs for retail purchase as of July 2011. Please note Office 2010 language packs will not work with other versions of Office (XP,2003, 2007 etc.)

I should point out that Microsoft no longer sells Office 2010 language packs either. The information I quoted is reference to Office 2003 and Office 2007. This means the only language packs sold by Microsoft are for Office 2013.

The following chart applies to Office 2007 but it explains which languages are language interface packs and which languages are languages packs. I have no reason to believe the information changed between Office 2007 and Office 2010.

Just download and install PowerPoint Viewer 2007. Alternatively, you could use the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack, but a much larger download. Both downloads are free and neither require Windows Genuine Advantage validation.

Here is how to get a lot more fonts (all that are shipped with the trial / complete version of MS Office). -installare-i-font-di-microsoft-office-2007-in-linux/ It's in Italian but you can understand the commands and maybe auto translate it... It comes with Lucida Grande, Webdings 2, and a lot of other.

Just wanted to let you know that the procedure works with PlayOnLinux and Mint 15. More specifically:- download the MS installer- install it to a virtual device of your choice following the wizard in PlayOnLinux (I named it microsoft_download)- switch to a terminal, find the installed *.TTF files somewhere below /.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/microsoft_download/drive_c/windows/Fonts/*.TTF- become root user or use sudo for the following- copy the TTF files to /usr/share/fonts/vista (the exact directory name doesn't seem to matter)- call fc-cache -fv- restart LibreOffice (or OpenOffice) :-)
