Turning forty-one was a turning point for me. Right before hitting forty-two, I felt this powerful urge to level up my entire life. I’ve always been about discipline, consistency, and going all-in with my businesses—but I needed something deeper. I was searching for a challenge that would push me personally, spiritually, in my family life, and in business. That’s when Jiu-Jitsu entered the picture.

I had heard all the benefits it could bring—mental clarity, better health, confidence, focus. But what really spoke to me was the potential to grow from the inside out. As a proud Army Veteran living with PTSD, I’ve dealt with my fair share of battles—some visible, most not. I’ve always looked for positive ways to channel my energy, and stepping onto the mats gave me just that. Since starting Jiu-Jitsu, my mood and sleep have noticeably improved. I went from sleeping four hours a night to getting six or seven. That change alone has been priceless. My mental clarity is stronger. My focus in business has sharpened. And overall, I feel more balanced.

I’ve always known the power of discipline. Wrestling in high school changed the course of my life. It helped me escape a dangerous path, focus on school, and gave me purpose. I became obsessed with the grind and learned that pressure creates growth. Jiu-Jitsu is now that new obsession. It’s humbling, it’s hard, and it’s exactly what I needed.

After just two weeks of training at Underdog Performance, under world champion instructor Thomas Keenan, I already felt the shift. This isn’t just a workout. It’s like playing physical chess. Every move requires strategy, patience, and humility. And even better—I’m not walking this path alone. My business partner Hector Anduray and our real estate team jumped in too. We’re growing as individuals and as a unit. My brother, Abraham Sanchez, has also started training—and seeing him earn his first stripes made me proud beyond words. Watching his dedication has been inspiring.

For veterans like me, I can’t recommend this enough. Jiu-Jitsu gives us structure, purpose, and a tribe. It helps with the things we don’t often talk about—like anxiety, trauma, and the search for peace. It’s a tool for healing and becoming sharper in every area of life.

I’m grateful for Underdog Performance, for Thomas, Adam, and everyone in our Unity Wolfpack who’s taken on this journey with me. I’ll keep sharing what I learn, how I grow, and why I believe this lifestyle can truly transform lives.

This isn’t just a sport. This is a path. And I’m walking it with purpose.
